- Team size
- 2 to 4 members. A person cannot be in more than one team.
- Duration
- 8 hours.
- Starting cash
- ₹5 crore of simulated money, the same for every team. None of it is real.
- The company
- A fictional company with a backstory, revealed on the day.
- Your mission
- “Keep this company alive.” Every team runs the same company and faces the same crises in the same order. Your choices make your outcomes different.
- Company Dossier
- At kickoff, each team gets a Company Dossier: industry and business model, financials, organisational chart, suppliers, key customers, competitors and company culture.
- The day at a glance
- Kickoff and reveal (the company is revealed, the dashboard is explained and your ₹5 crore of simulated money is handed over). Round 0, baseline (study the dossier and set your opening strategy). Crisis 1. Crisis 2. Lunch (the dashboard stays live on the big screen). Crisis 3. Crisis 4. Final Round, recovery plan (lock a final move with whatever resources you have left). Survival Debriefs (5 minutes of presentation per team, plus 5 minutes of judge Q&A). Judge deliberation (final dashboard freeze, with live music). Awards (winners announced).
- A crisis round
- The crisis is announced, for example “Your largest supplier has shut down.” Your team gets a Decision Card with 3 preset options (A, B, C) and a Custom Move slot. Discuss and decide, then fill in your Decision Log entry. Decisions lock. Each option has a hidden impact on your company’s vitals, set in advance by the organisers, and it stays secret until the round closes. Then the dashboard updates. Crises 2, 3 and 4 follow the same format and stay secret until they land.
- Decisions carry forward
- Each team has a set budget. The simulated money left after a crisis round carries over to the next round. The same applies to every other decision the company makes.
- Decision Log
- For every crisis, submit a one-page entry on the official form with five parts: diagnosis (what has actually happened, in one sentence), options considered, decision (A, B, C or a custom move), rationale (why you chose it, with your key assumption stated) and risk (what could go wrong next).
- Custom moves
- If you do not like the three options, propose your own. A panel of 2 organisers assesses it within 10 minutes and gives it an impact rating on the same scale as the preset options. Custom moves must be realistic and within the company’s resources. The panel may reject an unrealistic custom move, and the team must then pick a preset option.
- Wildcard Card
- Each team gets one single-use Wildcard Card, chosen at random at the start. You can play it in any crisis. Declare it in the Decision Log. You cannot use it after the decision window closes.
- Live dashboard
- A projected scoreboard updates after every round and tracks five vitals for each team: cash (funds left out of ₹5 crore), revenue (monthly run-rate), market share (your position against the competitor), customer trust (retention and reputation) and team morale (staff stability and leadership confidence). They roll up into a single Survival Index from 0 to 100, which decides the ranking.
- Rescue Mode
- If your cash reaches zero, your company is insolvent. You keep playing every remaining round, but your Survival Index is capped at 45 out of 100. You can still win special awards, such as Best Debrief.
- Survival Debrief
- At the end of the day, each team gives a 5-minute Survival Debrief: what did you do, what would you change and what did you learn. The judges then get 5 minutes of Q&A.
- Originality
- All decisions, rationales and responses must be the team’s own. Copying another team’s Decision Log or misrepresenting another person’s work is prohibited.
- Information
- Use only the Company Dossier and information the OC releases during the event. Fabricating company data or claiming information that was not provided is prohibited.
- Accuracy and AI usage
- You may use AI tools for research and analysis, but the strategy and decisions must be the team’s own. Do not pass AI output off as verified fact. The judges may question any decision or assumption, and unverifiable or unexplained claims lose marks.
- Decision deadlines
- Decision windows are strict. Late submissions are not accepted, and the “Do Nothing” outcome applies.
- Impact Matrix
- The Impact Matrix and the dashboard calculations are confidential until the end of the event. Trying to access, guess or tamper with the scoring system or dashboard is prohibited.
- Insolvency
- A team whose cash reaches zero is declared insolvent and enters Rescue Mode. Its Final Survival Index is capped at 45 out of 100.
- Team participation
- Only registered team members may take part. Any change in team composition needs prior written approval from the OC.
- Time limits
- Decision windows and debrief time limits are strict. Going over them may cost marks.
- Conduct and assistance
- Treat the judges, organisers, mentors and other competitors with respect. Mentors may ask questions but cannot make decisions for a team. Outside prompting or help during the debrief is prohibited.
- Mock outcomes
- All financial outcomes, valuations and consequences are simulated and carry no legal or financial obligation.
- Judging
- The decisions of the judges and the OC are final and binding.
